I think she was being beaten by her husband, who became angry at her for minor reasons, and killed him a la Lamb to the Slaughter.
The cut is from her husband hurting her, and the rest of the blood spatters are from his injuries.
That's what I think, anyway.

I really like the distant expression that she has, as if something powerful and important has just happened and she's still in a bit of a daze.
the haircut is really interesting and unique as well, someone I know is planning to have theirs done like that.
I also really like the shading on her, especially on her legs.

I had 2 thoughts for this..The first was that somehow, magically, she'd been cut in half when stoned and was just waking up, wondering why she can't feel her legs...

The second was that she'd just woken up from a *really* good night out, and is about to turn round and see the legs of some random who had crashed out on the snuggly soft carpet beside her.

But the overriding though was that *wow that shading kicks ass. I can't wait to see it one day and say "heyyyy I know who drew that, she's like, famous and shit" and for some random next to me (and everyone else nearby) to look at me funy and say "like, duh"....cause, randoms speak like California stoner-hippy cheerleaders......*
